Cantaloupes delivered to House GOP Lawmakers

Rep. Steve King''s statements prompted an appropriate response...

Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) said recently about Hispanic Immigrants "for everyone who's a valedictorian, there's another 100 out there who weigh 130 pounds - and they've got calves the size of cantaloupes because they're hauling 75 pounds of marijuana across the desert." (From recent interview with Conservative site Newsmax)

He then added, referring to immigration reform proposals,  "these people would be legalized with the same act."

How did some Hispanics respond? They photographed their calves and posted on social media sites...and how did some other Hispanics respond?

Activists affiliated with United Farm Workers and other organizations began delivering cantaloupes to members of the house, with a note that read "This cantaloupe was picked by immigrant hands... give us a vote for citizenship."
