U-Visa Processing Times Released

The processing of U-Visa petitions (Form I-918) are delayed. According to USCIS, petitions submitted on or before December 10, 2012 have been processed whereas petitions submitted after December 10, 2012 have not been processed.

Positive steps for immigration last week in Congress, and in the Courts

Last week, Democrats in the House proposed an immigration reform bill which will hopefully reignite the discussion on immigration reform. On another note, the First Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in favor of Vladimir Perez Santana. Mr. Perez Santana had been a lawful permanent residence since the age of nine.

These con artists prey upon those who come to the United States with the hope of achieving the American Dream. Will Deferred Action Be Expanded by President Obama?

Immigration Reform in Congress is not moving as fast as hoped for by many immigration reform activists. So, reform advocates are asking President Obama to use his executive authority to suspend deportation, grant administrative relief and expand the Deferred Action program. While the debate in congress continues, the executive branch continues to deport roughly 1,000 people per day.
